Blightking 3

YO YO YO !!!!!Hello guys  i have finished work on blight king no3 and must say sorry for the lack of updates and w.i.p stuff but ive just been concentrating on the fun side of painting lately, I painted this one in the classic nurgle green and with a woodland vibe which was alot of fun to work on.
 it was a fairly quick paint job i think about 25 hours hope you like it

MOTIVATION & Blightking 2

Good evening fellow brush lickers, ive recently been away from painting for a little while I haven't felt motivated to paint nor felt the urge. I thought a lot about ''motivation '' during my time off and for me personally I think just being plain tired from work is enough for me, I work around 11 hours a day this time of year and normally get up at 5.45am which sucks but it must be done. i've  noticed that this time last year on my blog there is also not much happening so I put it down to that.

The next thing about motivation that I concluded was pressure !! pressure to paint to a high standard and expectations of other people and myself to paint to a high standard, but what I came to realise is that this is not always possible with the free time I have probably 10 hours max a week painting time if im not tired out. and im not sure that its all that important now.
Im not one to drop names but its like roman from massive voodoo is always saying  about ''happy painting'' and I was confused about this for a long time but recently I have realised what it really means to just have fun don't worry to much about standards or opinions its my hobby at the end of the day not my job. it takes a massive amount of time and effort to paint a mini for golden demon for example probably for me about 4 months just working on one mini which can drive me crazy and bring the motivation way down for other projects. Its hard work painting like this so I plan from now on to enjoy my painting and not just try and excel on every model I paint.

So with that all said ive just finished the second blightking  yes painted for FUN not to impress others or push myself just plain old fun!
it took about 7 hours to finish it.

Fun is good motivation!!!

Oh and blightking 3 is on the way.

Visions magazine pics

Hey guys I recently had a few off my golden demon finalist miniatures from last year in visions magazine which is cool. including the bronze winner. I had 5 finalists last year and all where photographed so maybe more to come. so thanks white dwarf dudes for the pics.

blightking no.2

Hello guys blight king no2 is under way, a more heroic (if nurgle can be heroic?) pose this time atop a large rock
The painting will start soon. this time I plan to paint it in warmer putrid tones a good contrast and vibe to the previous cold dead blight king I named glom flyborn . I haven't chose a name for this one yet I will have to wait until the paint brings it to life to decide.

Nooooooooooo!!!!!!

OK so as mentioned in my previous post I was waiting for a new bulb for my lamp, today it finally arrived so I replaced the old for new switched it on and nothing! wait there must be something ive missed..... check it is all fitted properly.....nothing.......ok a new fuse......still nothing....ok take it apart check inside...nothing.... check it all again....nothing    noooooooooo!!!! good bye lamp thanks for the good times. HA HA

ok so a bit of fun the lamp is busted for good so will need to get a new one, a bit of a bummer as I was quite looking forward to getting started on the next blightking.

Blightking Finished

Hey guys I just finished the first blightking this one is painted in cool tones, I plan to start the next one very soon in warmer putrid tones, nice! I hope you like it a fun mini to paint I highly recommend getting some of these. sorry for not posting any w.i.p pics my lamp is busted and im waiting for a new bulb to arrive in the mail so had to borrow one to take some quick pics.

The Blightking

Good day fellow brush lickers I recently bought a pack of putrid blightkings by GW, I must say it is a very nice kit with loads of options to make them how you wish. my only gripe was that some of the parts could be more interchangeable the sword and head I wanted  to use didn't fit with the torso etc but none the less a some cool miniatures and its nothing a little green stuff cant fix. given the popularity of the nurgle lord mini a few years ago I can see this kit being very popular. I don't think there is a painter alive that didn't paint or convert a version of that mini.

I made two minis from the box converted with a head and arm swap and a little green stuff, I plan to paint the one above with cool colours and a snow base and the seconed with the sword in warmer tones, in fact I have already started painting the one above and im really enjoying the painting, Im not trying to do the best cleanest paint job in the world just trying to have fun with the different pale tones and contrast but you will see in the next post when I take some pics.

BAD BONES ! ! !

Hey guys just a quick post to show you my little skeleton, I painted it in the last 2 days before warhammer fest and entered it for fun, not a serious entry at all. I did how ever paint it the best I could. hope you like it.

Back on track /KILLA KAN/ Golden demon 2014

Hello guys the blog is back on track after some computer trouble but things are now sorted out im happy again. sweeeeet!

I had some small luck with a finalist in vehicle category that im quite happy with, ive been working on a ork killa can for the last 2 months while the blog has been down. I decided to do something a little different with it instead of the standard yellow for bad moons I did it black and yellow. I was thinking like when you used to play street fighter 2 and your buddy would pick the same guy as you there would be an alternate version that was the general idea so black with yellow markings.
I also wanted to give the mini some character so instead of just standing lifeless on the base I tried to capture the crazy hap hazard nature of the orks it looks like its kind of drunk I guess ha ha. I will let you judge for yourself.

Over all there are good and bad things about warhammer fest/golden demon. the large room that golden demon was held in was well lit this year with a good amount of natural light and there were lots of mini seminars that any one could just sit and check out live painting tutorials and theory that was really cool on the bad side there was going up and down stairs again all day, this year on 3 floors booo! and NO medals for finalists in golden demon just a bit of paper?!? that sucked but generally if your only interested in painting there wasn't a lot to do. But I would still take this over nothing at all. lets be honest id still go if they held it in a bloody car park!!!

WARMASTER HORUS

Hello guys i wanted to show you my latest work, Horus from forgeworld, I've waited many years for this mini and just had to have it when i first saw it. Its more a nostalgia thing i guess. Ok £60 for one mini is crazy but i am a fanboy of horus heresy and ive read many of the novels so it was a no brainer for me.
 I've nearly finished the mini just some areas to tidy up then on to the base, blasting through this one.

Hey guys the griffin is finally finished I've still got to edit the pics for coolmini etc but its done, i hope you like it. The mini has taken around 100 hours to finish and it was alot of fun to paint (apart from the wings) i wanted to try something a little different form my normal armor and tanks and go back to the old world of warhammer. i lernt a few things, mostly overcoming the issues with working on a large mini and just by painting a different style.
Next up will be horus that i got from forge world, well it should be in the post anytime now. comments on the griffin are most welcome.
