Very nice!

I been out and bought some winsor & newton series 7 brushes today ive been using the standard gw ones up until now, did some painting tonight and i must say these brushes are ace. i can see why they are used by professional mini painters, there great and i recomend you pick some up if you havent all ready.

I also got hold of one of the new gw plastic kits the dark elf sorceres. The mini is fantastic and fits together perfectly with barely any prep work needed. so thumbs up GW for that. I will most deffinatly be picking up more of them soon.
Started work on the sorceres tonight. might paint her up in the standard way i like that scheme.

Also my 745.M41 duel entry is up on cmon so please vote or comment. I cant make any better pictures of it sadly like i said before im having trouble with camera software on the computer at the mo so they will have to do.

i tried to take some better pics of the dreadnought im not having much luck. Its hard to see the blending ive done with the white armor and alot of pics ive seen online else where it just looks plain white. grrrr!

There are some older pics in the golden demon gallery. (top of page) you can see some parts better. Think i may have to invest in a photoshop program for my pc or a better camera.

745.M41 Golden Demon finalist Duel category

Here are the some pics of my entry to duel category that made the finals. I had the idea for it just a few weeks before games day so i had to work like crazy to get it finished in time. Its based on the battle of Macragge where the ultramarines first company was wiped out to the last man at their polar fortress.

I got a finalist pin for it and also one for my terminator chaplain in open category so a good day for me. check my gallery for the chaplain pics.
There are some mould lines in the photos that were removed before GD and repainted thanks to my brothers eagle eyes also on the dreadnought aswell. I will put some new pics up in time when my photo upload software is working on the computer. so low quality pics at the mo sorry.

A good day today, i won gold at the golden demons for my dreadnought im very happy : )

(its still not sunk in yet.) i also made the finals with my duel entry and open category.
My brother also made the final of 40k vehicle with his blood angels land raider but no demon for him sadly.
 man its been a very long day and im very tierd so here at last are the pics of my winning dreadnought.

Off we go

Everything is packed ready for games day im leaving at 7 in the morning for the drive up to Birmingham hopefully will have some better luck this year but u will have to watch this space and see. Im entering 40k vehicle ,duel and open category with a single mini so will be interesting to see what happens there. see you there guys and good luck with your entrys.

3.My brother is also entering this year with a nice blood angels land raider that is heavily converted so will post some pics of that too.

Also i had some sad news this week an old friend from back in college days passed away he was way to young too die very sad news.  He was a good guy and also a very good graffitti painter so R.I.P TAKS the world is a good man down.

Relax

Hello guys, Firstly sorry things have been a bit slak here on the blog like i said before i have been working on my golden demon entrys for this year and pushing my painting as hard as i can to get my 4 entrys done in time. There is less than 4 weeks left and im glad to now be finished in time so i can now relax and get back to some fun painting. Ive had a blast working on my entrys and have learned alot ,had to strip one mini of paint and start over that set me back a week it just happens like that sometimes.
My entry for duel category is just finished tonight its based on the Battle for Macragge and im very pleased with it. I will have pics of all the stuff up the day after golden demon plus some other photos of the day and hopefully some pics of the winners just for intrest.

Here is a w.i.p pic of a nurgle chaos Knight that ive just started on allthough he now has a differnt base from the pic, i will be working on him in the next few weeks up to gd just for fun.

Improvements

Hello hello. still working on golden demon stuff, so ok not much to see on the blog at the mo but after gd there will be some real nice minis on here for you guys to check out. Ive been working real hard this year so hope i will do better than last year and all the problems with the judges and stuff.
Anyway ive made a few improvements to my terminator chaplain as the judges look at minis from the back in the cabnets ive added a few more details to the back of the chaplain to hopefully catch there eyes as it was quite plane before. plus i added an eagle head thing instead of that spindaly tree that was there before. Hope you think it looks ok?

Set up.

Hey guys just thought that i should show you my set up and they way i work dont know why but maybe you might be interested.  I have a small home so have no space for a full time set up.  Ive had to be very organized, i keep all my stuff in boxes and i mean everything wich can be a real pain sometimes. It can take 10 minutes to get everything set up and ready to start painting.

I use a fold away picnic table to do my paintng as it can be set up in seconds and i sit on the sofa to paint so lots of back ache for me. Everything is stored away in cupboard after and out of the way of babies hands.

 All my paints have trays that they are stored in that slide into a specialy made box,  also my brushes tools glues weatering powder and stuff fit into to it aswell.  i keep all my spare miniature parts and new minis in a tool box that most of the time lives in the cupboard, also there is other stuff in there like primer /paint stripper and scenery stuff for bases and all that. Plus i got two crates of old minis and my armys from my gaming days that live in the garage over the road.

Well theres a small insight into my painting set up. I find it intersting to see how other people work so hopefully some of you will find something intresting in this.

p.s just started my 4th golden demon entry for this year. plus i feel like painting something fast again was loads of fun last time so more of that soon.

Hey guys just wanted to show you this space marine i just finished,
I painted him in about 6 hours so very fast for me. Just wanted to have some fun with painting him, not trying to be neat just slapping the colours down pretty fast. Not that my normal painting isnt fun but i normaly try to be very neat and take my time, much more serious fun if you know what i mean!

Also my computer and photo instaler stuff is playing up so im trying to get that sorted + the TV has gone bang so must get that fixed. AAAGGGHHHH!
Anyway i hope you like the marine.

Sheild

Just finished Artemis well pretty much. just a few touch ups here and there, ive been working on the sheild tonight i have painted it as a greek corinthian design from 650bc that i found on google. im very pleased with how this mini has turned out its a great mini from hasselfree, oh i also added some birch seed bits to the base for leaves.

and a birds eye view for some reason? just thought it looked cool.
Any how not sure what to paint next got loads of minis to work on but should prob do some more on the dreadnought and tie up loose ends on some other stuff. i will put the pics of artemis up on coolminiornot soon so please vote and give your opinion. Hope you likey cheers

More Artemis

A few more pics for you guys. There is still loads to do on this mini there are some areas that im not happy with and need more attention. some parts are patchy from thin paint and need working over more some just need to be tidyed up. Im pleased with it so far.
The sheild freehand is next got a few ideas and also have been looking at greek designs on google for ideas.  Any comments welcome on her as im not used to painting skin and would like some comments or crit.

Started on Artemis last night, its fun to paint so much flesh insted of armor all the time. The dreadnought is almost finished now after 2 months painting and modeling so here are some wips of her for you.
