Mystical Sword

Hey guys been working on the sword. I didn't do the o.s.l in the end as it would not look right on the mini. There are too many light tones of paint with the silver armor and pale tabbard, and too have a strong lighting effect on it might look a bit odd. The armor would have to be darker in order for the effect to look right so decided to do an energy field effect that was fun too paint. I'm not done on the sword yet though there is some neatening up and a bit of shading to add some contrast although it will be quite subtle it should make a lot of difference. Ive also added a bit of purple in there with the blue to make it a bit more interesting and mystical. happy with it so far. More soon guys  :)

Heads up!

Hey guys just a quick heads up. Apparently there is going to be a shake up of the citadel paints range if you use these i suggest you stock up on your favourite colours before they are discontinued.   There is going to be some base and layer colours don't know what there about but they are meant to be coming out in the near future. so stock up them favourites before there gone forever.

A few days off.

Hey guys just a quick post to let you know that i will be going into hospital for some dental work so wont be anymore grey knight for the rest off the week probably.
i know it sounds a bit extreme for dental work but this tooth has caused massive problems including a major jaw infection that was the most pain i have ever felt in my entire life. They have already failed to remove it once so this time im going too be put to sleep. so a sore face and some rest.

There will be more grey knight soon.

Knights and snow

Hello all.
               Ive done some more work on the grey knight, progress is a little slow as the many weeks i had off from painting from being ill have made me a little rusty so taking a bit more time but will soon be back in full swing no doubt. The sword will be next and i plan to do some o.s.l from the sword that will be a lot of fun. I've done a bit of o.s.l in the past and is something that i love to do.
There will only be a small amount probably just some reflection points on the edges of the Armour but i will have to see where the mood takes me at the time.
Also its snowing again and that makes my life a small hell because i work out doors all day so i will be freezing my arse off some more, but the snow is very beautiful to me also, its just not good too work in.

Nurgle knight

Hey guys heres a pic of the nurgle knight i started way back in september. Last night after working on the grey knight (more pics soon) i came across this guy whist having a tidy up of things, as he was almost done  i decided to finish him off.
I started him before gamesday for fun and probably finished him in about 10 hours so a table top standard for gaming.

I will have more grey knight very soon.

Knights and Ravens

Hey guys got some paint down on the grey knight, its still in the very early stages at the moment just the amour and helmet are pretty much done. i will have to do some more work on the armour later because i plan to do some o.s.l from the sword and there will know doubt be some parts that need altering a little.

I have also added a psyber raven keeping watch from the top of the arch to add a little character, he looks at home up there. Anyways i will post more soon :-P

The Grey Knight W.I.P

Hello paint pals im feeling a little better now so have been working on this grey knight terminator. Also built a large broken arch over him from some plaster repair.
 I use plaster repair because it is a little softer than paster of parris and its easyer to carve into collums and stone work that you want to make. i just use a knife and pointy spike thing to carve.

There are still a few details to add to the scene before undercoating, a pillar of skulls on the back and a vent in the front plus patch up the pillar so tomorrow will get them on and undercoat ready for painting.

Set Backs

Ok painting friends firstly i have to say sorry for the lack of updates here on the blog but things have not been good. For the past few weeks from before christmas i have not been well at all, i keep getting ill over and over with different things and have not been up to any painting plus now to top it off Ive got terrible tooth ache. (OUCH).
Hopefully i will be ok soon, i am missing painting very much but it has given me time to think about my painting and ideas for projects and competition pieces.
On the plus side it was my birthday the other day and i got some nice minis to paint so theres alot of painting to come.

A NEW YEAR

Hey guys, hope you all had a good Christmas and some good times with family and friends. The new year is nearly here, lets all hope the mayan's where wrong and the world will not end in 2012 ha ha.
   Anyways i have some pics of my next project its the Beastman doombull by GW that i got from santa so thanks very much. Its a finecast miniature but i must be a very lucky boy because the mini is perfect, there are no air bubbles or rough parts which im very happy with. I also recived the new beastman Ghorgon/Cygor mini that is massive and will be a very big project to work on but that will be for another time when im ready for such a massive project.

Hello to all and merry Christmas.

   I hope all your Christmas shopping is done and your all ready for crimbo and your not ill like me, I've got a terrible cold and have been through about a million cough sweets and lemsips all ready. not painting this week just trying to get better in time for Christmas so relaxing and wrapping presents.

Anyways i didn't quite know what to post on here for Christmas time! something miniatures related would be to obvious so i bring you some random stuff. Hey guys some pics of the space wolf for you. I call him wolf brother as he was donated by my bro, i didn't add the servo skull in the end i felt it didn't add anything to the piece in fact it was quite distracting. so here you go.

More space wolf

Hey guys, been busy lately with christmas shopping and work  and other stuff like that but managed to get the space wolf done. well 95% just need to add a little servo skull thing i made that was fun too build. So heres a quick pic, i will have some more soon for you. was about 20 hour paint job in the end so fairly fast. it was enjoyable to do thats the most important thing to have fun with your painting.

Space wolf

Hi all

Firstly you maybe thinking from the pic, what happened to njal stormcaller mini? well i lost patience with it to be perfectly honest. The cast was not good and the armour plates that are meant to be smooth were all rough and it was not fun at all to paint, i would even go as far as to say for me it was unpaintable. I'm really not impressed by these finecast minis hope i can find some better ones in the future. It needs much much more prep work and sanding down to get it good and smooth. Its in my bits box now where it will stay until i am ready to try again.

As im still fealing the space wolves vibe and ive built a base, my brother kindly gave me one of his space wolf minis to paint from his bits box. He has tons of minis and i mean alot as he is a collecter aswell as a painter and gamer so thanks bro. i will start work on it soon but its probably going to be a fairly fast paint job more for fun than anything. i was going to put alot of effort into the njal stormcaller mini but now with all the problems i just want to do some fun painting.

Also i was thinking lately about my painting and ive not been inspierd to paint much at the moment. I seam to be just painting minis straight out the box and that does not always grab my intrest. The thing i love the most with this hobby besides painting was always converting minis and trying to make something different to the norm. I like to see people do thier own interpritation of a mini and that inspires me to do the same and push myself to be better plus its more fun for me.
I plan next year to try my hand at some sculpting, ive done very little so far and its somthing i would like to try more of. i will try to sculpt some minis from scratch as this is something i always wanted to try. Anyways i will have some pics of the space wolf up soon
